We launched “Gan@Misewaza” in December 2009 to enhance the quality of cancer treatment and deliver the Japanese cancer treatment technique world-wide as a virtual cancer board. Cancer treatment has been held by devoted service of surgeons; however, it is now on the verge of a crisis as facing the fact that residents have lost their motivation to become a surgeon and the number of cancer-related diseases has been increasing along with an aging society. One of the biggest reasons why young doctors have lost their interests in surgical field is because they don’t know the real attraction of surgery and cancer treatment. This is caused by the fact that they handle too much workload in their really tight schedule and loose opportunities to maintain surgical skills carefully, and also they don’t have either enough time or mental space to acquire wide knowledge regarding multi-disciplinary treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy which have become important lately. I do strongly believe that teaching the number one rated skills and attraction in Japanese cancer medical treatment to residents and young doctors and leading the world from Asia will save Japanese cancer treatment from the crisis and help it become more global. “Gan@Misewaza” is working on the first project in Japan, which is broadcasting surgery scene lively with explanation of performing surgeon as using Internet skills. Also, telling effectively the information of multi-disciplinary treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy is the basic concept, which is really innovative. Broadcasting only high quality contents proved by board members such as editorial members has to be specially mentioned. As broadcasting contents in a field of gastroenterology and the mammary gland, the number of members is increasing rapidly, and it has reached over 10,000 members. This result comes from the fact that doctors representing Japan as well known surgeon in various different fields. We will be expanding the fields to urology, gynecology, respiratory and chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the near future. We promise not to disappoint you. Sincerely yours, |
